The Golden “R” Reunion, was suggested by Lyle Bennett, was first sponsored in 1987 by the Rockford Area Historical Society in conjunction with Michigan’s Sesquicentennial Celebration.
The Golden “R” Club is for all who graduated from Rockford High School 50-plus years ago.
Due to the great response from alumni, the original committee headed by Clarence Blakeslee and Maxine Marcott, voted to make it an annual gathering to be held on the last Saturday of June.
Invitations to make reservations are sent out by the committee at the end of April each year.
